Was quite looking forward to mindless TV watching tonight until I realised the latest Greys Anatomy episode was a musical (ugh, why!?). Suffered through the 40 mins feeling sorry for some of the cast who really just looked like uncomfortable actors ashamed of doing this stupid singing thing in front of their colleagues. I was just waiting for it to end so I could go look up YouTube videos of the Buffy musical episode. This reminder = saving grace of this week’s Greys. Oh.. how I miss Buffy! Especially Giles, who apparently will have a role in the US version of Free Agents. The romcom pilot’s to be written by Vernoica Mars & Party Down guy so am hoping it gets picked up. We need more good TV!

» Factum

Having worked on this year’s Biennale, it’s hard to pick a favourite work. It’s been a rare privilege i think, being part of the process. I’ve really come to appreciate the motivation, back stories and little anecdotes about some of the pieces which make everything a little more personal and relatable really.

If I have time I might point out a few to this empty audience but in the meantime, one of my most loved works for sure - Candice Breitz’s Factum, a video work featuring interviews with identical twins and triplets. This is the first time all videos in the series are presented together as one. I’ve only been through 2 or 3 so far (though I could’ve sat there for hours more) so another visit to the museum is definitely in order, if only for this.

Long bus rides are great for rediscovering music. A newish one here by Amos Lee and a different version of Joseph Arthur’s In The Sun which is kind of nice if you’ve heard the original on repeat, repeat, repeat like I have. The two have kept me company these last few days of leave. Tomorrow it’s back to the office, and FM radio.

It’s been a while.

Why hello again little tumblog. I think perhaps I will restart posting random interesting things here, until I forget again at least.
